This is a painting of a photograph by Otis Casey. It shows cosplayers at Blerdcon standing across the street from the Crystal City metro station in Virginia. I was enchanted by the variety of people and inspired by what they symbolized. There are different races, costumes, moods, ages, and physical stature, and yet all are raising their fists in defiant solidarity to otherness.
