What if Superman were black? This painting shows the iconic superhero's origin and interactions with human society in a new way, as a pensive Superman considers who he is. Irrational fear of his powers in a black skin culminates in the lower right section, where Luthor's white, all-American missile is sent to destroy this "menace."
